Salon BKYLN: Pride Sans Prejudice
JULIA ADLE (Music Video/Choreography) is a rising senior at Pace University in the BFA Commercial Dance Department, damnit! From the sleepiest little beach town in South Florida, she moved to NYC to pursue dance and everything that goes along with it. Though it is not her birth name, everyone present tonight will probably refer to her as ‘Jola’, take your pick. Formally credited as ‘Certified Badass’ this is Julia’s 5th Salon as a patron, and 1st salon presenting a work that is entirely her own, so please refrain from throwing tomatoes if possible. If you’re looking to spark up a conversation with her, just say “dogs”.

STEFANIE ANARUMO (Director/ASL Performer) is an actor, director, and accessibility advocate living in New York City. As a Fulbright scholar, she created Il Teatro per Bambini Sordi, a Deaf children’s theatre in Rome, Italy, which fused languages signed and spoken (Italian, English, American Sign Language, and La Lingua dei Segni) in the creation of theatrical curriculum and performance. Recent performance credits include: Captive Audience with the NY Deaf Theatre, Slasher and A Christmas Carol at the Hippodrome State Theatre in Florida. She holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance and a Certification in Arts in Healthcare from the University of Florida.

ASHLEY AQUILO (Photographer/Poet) grew up in Albany, NY which is known as the seventh unfriendliest city, but that did not stop her from turning everything around her into art. Along with dancing around and finger painting, Aquilo also loves to write, draw, and sing Nickelback karaoke at the bar. She believes that artists are the developers of their own brilliant expressions, which is why she uses imagination and creativity to seek out the best version of herself. Her favorite quote is, "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process" by Vincent Van Gogh. You can buy her first self-published book called, "Liquid Confessions" on Amazon if you're looking for a good time.

JORDI COATS (Producer) Jordi is a New York based producer and director. Most recently, she acted as the technical director for The Performing Arts Project. Other credits include: Producer of "EverScape" FringeNYC 2015, Associate Producer of the award-winning "Mother Jones and the Children's Crusade" NYMF 2014, Asst. Directed and Associate
Produced "Volleygirls" at NYMF in 2013 (Best of Fest), IAMA Theatre Co's "Shiner" (asst. director) and has been collaborating on many film projects in the city. Previously she has worked with Binder Casting, Tara Rubin Casting, and Telsey + Company casting. She is a graduate of the Univeristy of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While in NC, she founded The Talent Company, a theatre company for middle and high school students in the Uwharrie region that is currently in its 10th season. |
ALEX DZIALO (Videographer) is a filmmaker, writer, and performer focusing on comedic projects. He currently works at Hit + Run Creative, a New York-based production company specializing in unscripted content. Alex performs improv as well as produces video sketches with his troupe, Sanderson. In addition, he's played guitar as a pit musician for NYU and BC theatrical productions. Alex is a graduate of Boston College, where he was a proud member of My Mother's Fleabag, the nation's oldest collegiate improv troupe.

ASHLEY GUNSTEENS (Producer) is a Brooklyn-based theater director with a penchant for movement and ensemble-based work. She focuses on culturally relevant new works with an appeal to magical realism within minimalist spaces, and feels strongly about creating pieces that are accessible to all audiences, specifically traditional ‘non-theater-goers.’ Recent projects include Pussyfest (Caps Lock Theater/Red Caravan Reading Series May 2016), the world-premiere of EverScape (Playbill’s “Top 5 Hottest Shows Not To Miss” NYC Fringe Festival 2015; Extended run at The C.O.W. Theater Fall 2015), Romantic Fools (Times Square Arts Center), What Every Girl Should Know ("Best Ensemble" NYC Fringe Festival 2013), and How I Learned to Drive (Lab! Theater). Ashley is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and works as an event planner and designer in SoHo by day.

KAYLA JACKMON (Actor) is an actor, teaching artist and writer with a love for movement and devised, ensemble-based work. Originally from the sprawling flat lands of South Dakota, she has an interest in nature and explores human’s relationship with it in her writing. As a teacher, she enjoys an active role in fostering creativity with young people. In Ohio, she taught both in the classroom and in after-school programs and trained in Stratford-upon-Avon with The Royal Shakespeare Company. In 2015, she moved to New York after completing the Acting Apprenticeship at Actors Theatre of Louisville. She holds a BA in Theatre from The Ohio State University.

RACHEL LIN (Actor) is an actor from Brooklyn by way of the UK. She is a member of the Bats at the Flea Theater, and will be returning in July as co-producer of Serials @ the Flea. EMILY McNALLY (Singer/Songwriter) is a singer/songwriter based in Manhattan. Often compared to the likes of Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson, her soulful, starry-eyed approach to songwriting makes you "definitely determined not to forget her" (Creative Control Magazine). She released her debut EP, "Small Town", last August, and is in the process of recording a sophomore EP while pursuing a bachelors degree in music at NYU Steinhardt. Her recent performance credits include The Bitter End, Pianos, and SMESfest. In March, Emily was inducted into the NY Songwriters Circle, the longest running songwriters showcase in NYC. FERNANDO MOYA DELGADO (Choreographer/Video) is a performer and creative Artist (choreographer, photographer) based in NYC. Fernando was born and raised in GYE, Ecuador where he studied acting and dance. He is a rising senior in Pace University pursuing a BFA in Acting for Film and TV and a Commercial Dance Minor. Fernando loves creating and he is very excited to share his new dance video: “Cashmere Cat”. He wants to thank the whole team of Cashmere Kitties for being part of this video! Fernando is currently working on new projects for his production company, Art is Life. He wants to keep choreographing, acting, creating and living life. MIKE POBLETE (Playwright) is thrilled to take part in Salon BKLYN. Born in Brooklyn, Mike has had six full length plays and numerous one acts performed in six countries. MIMI SCARDULLA (Dancer/Choreographer) is a Louisiana gal who loves her dog Gypsy and creating art with her friends! She is excited to be dancing along side two new friends/artists, Julian Ramos and Dylan-Cole Passman. Julian is a performer originally from Indiana. Living in NYC and seeing where life takes him next. Dylan-Cole is a recent graduate of Ball State University. In his spare time he love to hang out with his dogs in the park and occasionally make it to ballet class. This piece is about those few times where we can't help but put what we WANT over what we need.

TREVIN STEPHENSON (Singer/Songwriter) stage name Trevyn, has dedicated his life to music. Music is his first language. He grew up singing in choirs, singing groups, and musical theater. His inspirations include Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Frank Sinatra, Bill Withers, Otis Redding, and many more. He enjoys to not only listen to music, but write his own as well. He wishes that everyone enjoy his performance in some way or another & thanks his friends and family for inspiring his music. Oh and he's gay and totally single.
